On 2 June 2022, the Department of STEM Education under the IDRC funded Project: Connected Learning for STEM hosted an in-house workshop to strengthen collaboration between the project implementation partner schools and Samtse College of Education
The workshop’s main objectives were to strengthen collaboration between the College and the partner schools implementing the CL4STEM project as well as to build the capacity of STEM teachers. The day-long workshop was divided into morning and afternoon sessions. The morning session began with an opening remark from the President, Project Lead, followed by an overview of the consortium by the project coordinator, and an orientation on Reflective Teaching with ICT, Universal Design for Learning, and Design Thinking, the three basic foundations of Open Education Resources (OERs). Then in the afternoon, STEM teachers were given hands-on experience with the virtual learning platform moodle and its associated features, as well as subject modules. This workshop facilitated STEM teachers’ capacity to use Moodle and OERs.
